LANDAVAN is a Community of Property owners and Caravanners who offer their own home base for the opportunity to use others.
What Is Landavan?
Landavan is more than a caravan site-swapping club — it’s a community of travellers sharing the spirit of exploration, connection, and generosity.
While our members do stay on each other’s properties without paying, the real value lies in the experiences.
Think: sunset chats around a campfire, fresh eggs from the farm gate, local wine shared with new friends, and waking up in a place that feels like a well-kept secret.
Landavan isn’t just about fancy setups or big experiences—it’s about the little things that make travel special.
A quiet spot, kind hosts, and the kind of moments you talk about long after the trip ends.
You decide who stays and when.
Whether you're home or away, you stay in control of your space, and only self-contained travellers can book — ensuring respect, privacy, and peace of mind.
Since launching over a year ago, Landavan has become something special.
Our members don’t just stay — they share.
And that’s why every connection feels meaningful.
These are travellers who understand the journey, and hosts who open up their world with warmth.
Landavan is for those who want more from their travels — more stories, more depth, more soul.
Share your patch.
Stay on someone else’s.
Travel better.
Who Is Landavan For?
Landavan is for travellers who crave more than just a place to park.
It’s for the curious souls who believe that travel should feel like discovery — not a transaction.
It’s for the people who know the best moments often happen off the beaten path.
Yes, you’ll save money — but it’s about how you spend those savings.
On long lunches, local produce and farm-fresh feasts, spontaneous detours, or simply slowing down somewhere unforgettable.
Landavan is for Aussies who love this wide, wild country of ours and want to be part of something that makes travelling it more personal, more connected, and more meaningful.
As long-time travellers ourselves (we’ve been on the road for nearly 3 years), we created Landavan from lived experience — knowing that the best kind of travel comes from sharing stories, spaces, and a sense of community.
What Are The Benefits Of Landavan?
1. Real Savings That Fuel Adventure
The average cost of a night in a caravan park in Australia is around $63. That adds up quickly—over $23,000 if you're travelling full-time for a year.
But with Landavan, you’re not paying that. Instead, you're putting that money back into the things that make your travels unforgettable: unique experiences, family outings, and spontaneous adventures.
Here’s how it adds up:
Some of our members are even planning to 'site-swap' their way around the country, pocketing over $10k to spend on their journey—not where they sleep.
2. More Freedom, More Flexibility
Caravan parks often fill up months in advance, especially during holidays—and prices skyrocket. With Landavan, members can book more spontaneously and enjoy stays in places most travellers never even consider.
From the coast to the outback, and everywhere in between, the Landavan network opens up beautiful and unexpected places to explore.
Families especially love that they can spend their money on the moments that matter, rather than just parking their van.
3. Experience The Heart Of Australia
When you stay with a Landavan host, you’re getting more than just a place to park—you’re getting a window into their world.
These are fellow travellers, people who know the joy and challenge of life on the road.
They’ll help you uncover local gems and give you real tips—not tourist brochures.
Even when your host is away, you’re not left on your own.
A quick message unlocks insights and connections that can change the whole tone of your trip.
4. Tailored to the Way You Travel
Pet-Friendly Options: Many caravan parks don't allow pets.
Landavan gives you more pet-friendly choices, so your furry travel companions can come too.
No Strangers in Your Home: You never have to open your home to guests—just your yard or driveway. That makes hosting easy and secure.
Skip the Rental Hassles: Renting your home out while you travel can be expensive and stressful. Landavan gives you the same (or better) financial benefit—without the fees, taxes, and red tape.
Some members do both: they rent their homes and collect Landavan points before they leave.
It’s a smart, flexible way to stretch your travel funds even further.
Landavan isn’t just a clever way to save—it’s a doorway to deeper travel, meaningful moments, and a better way to explore Australia.

We had an incredible three-night stay at Broad Waters, camping in a lovely flat area surrounded by nature. From the moment we arrived, Broady and Di welcomed us with kindness and generosity, sharing their extensive local knowledge and passion for the area.
On Thursday night, we had the unique experience of joining them at the caravan park, where they shuck oysters for the public.
Not only did we get to enjoy fresh, delicious oysters from a local supplier (just $1 each!), but Broady also taught our children how to shuck them, deepening our family’s love for oysters.
Thanks to their tip, we also discovered the local sourdough bread shed, which opens at 4 pm on Thursdays, allowing us to enjoy a warm, freshly baked loaf of the most delicious bread.
That evening, we joined them for a meal at the local sports club, which was a great night out. On Friday morning, we set off on a fantastic Coffin Bay Tour with Broady at 10 am.
This was an educational and engaging experience, exploring the sights of Coffin Bay, visiting a working oyster factory, and learning all about the life cycle of oysters, as well as the fascinating history of the area, including Matthew Flinders’ journey.
Another highlight was visiting a local silver jewellery workshop, where we watched a silver pour and admired the craftsmanship of local artists.
Broady had plenty of great travel tips, and in the afternoon, we ventured to Greenly Beach. Unfortunately, the tide wasn’t in our favour, and the rock pools were more like powerful whirlpools, but it was still an exciting adventure! That night, we gathered around the fire pit with Broady and Di, exchanging card game knowledge and enjoying great company.
On Saturday, we explored the stunning Coffin Bay National Park, spending hours watching dolphins swimming at the beach near Golden Island, a truly magical sight. Later, Broady gave us a sand dune driving lesson, lent the kids sandboards, and even taught us how to find cockles at the beach. This was easily our favourite afternoon of the trip so far! We wrapped up the night with another cosy fire pit session, sharing stories and playing cards.
Tips for Your Stay:
• Definitely book a tour with Broady, his local knowledge is unmatched!
• Don’t miss the Thursday afternoon sourdough bread shed opening.
• If you love oysters, Broady can help you get them fresh at an unbeatable price.
• Bring a bottle of red wine, Broady and Di appreciate a good drop!
Our time at Broad Waters was truly unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return.
Thank you, Broady and Di, for making our first Landavan stay so special!

We loved our stay at Six Strings.
Not only is it a really easy and convenient location to all the regions of SA that we love, like Mclaren Vale and the best coastline in SA, the site had plenty of room overlooking the vines and olive grove and their carefully looked after gardens.
An extra bonus was the wine tasting and sensational wine (we purchased a box for home).
Thanks again Kim and Mick for hosting us on your beautiful property we really enjoyed our stay & will savour the wine for many weeks to come.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lalor Esperance!
The site offers plenty of space in a peaceful and private location, and we felt completely safe and relaxed the entire time.
Our hosts were incredibly lovely, so welcoming and full of local knowledge.
Thanks to their tips, we discovered a delicious local bakery, stunning swimming beaches, and some hidden gems in the area.
Esperance itself is simply breathtaking, with some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen.
The location was also ideal for exploring Cape Le Grand National Park, which was a definite highlight of our trip.
We will be forever grateful for the chance to explore this stunning region from such a perfect base.
Highly recommend!

5 stars seems an inadequate number to rate our stay at LandaVan Royalla with Sharon and Rob, definitely at least a 10.
Sharon and Rob are the most friendly, warm, caring and sharing couple you could ever hope to meet.
If you would like somewhere to park up and enjoy all that Canberra has to offer we can guarantee you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay on Sharon and Rob rural property.
So peaceful and relaxing and close to Canberra's city centre and surrounds. We arrived as strangers and left firm friends.
Thank you so much for having us Sharon and Rob.

Who Created Landavan?
Landavan is the inspired creation of Eulanda Ryan (pronounced "You-lan-duh"). Known as "Landy" by her friends, Eulanda came up with the idea for LandaVan while on her first lap of Australia.
She saw that the rising cost of travel was affecting many caravaners ability to get the most out of their adventure.
One day Eulanda and her family were travelling to Hervey Bay in peak season. A couple that Eulanda had met recently offered their property to stay on to make things easier and avoid being cramped.
While being shocked at the kindness of someone she had only known a short time, over time Eulanda realised that many Aussies had this generous spirit, and would be willing to work together to make travel more enjoyable. Landavan was born!
Landavan is family owned and completely built and run right here in Australia.

At Landavan, we're all about looking out for each other, which means respecting one another’s property.
This shared responsibility is what makes our community unique and the risk incredibly low, unlike other platforms.
As a member, you'll not only offer a designated area for others to stay, but you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy the same hospitality on their property, with the expectation you will do the right thing by the owners.
It's a mutual exchange of kindness, not a business transaction, fostering friendships and support within our community.
The most Important point to remember when discussing insurance is, people can't simply sue without proving negligence.
Negligence: This occurs when someone fails to take reasonable care to avoid causing injury or loss to another person. To establish negligence, the injured party (plaintiff) must prove:
1. Duty of Care: The defendant had a legal obligation to act in a certain way toward the plaintiff.
2. Breach of Duty: The defendant failed to meet that obligation.
3. Causation: The defendant's breach of duty directly caused the plaintiff's injury or damage.
4. Damages: The plaintiff suffered actual harm or loss as a result.
Since no money changes hands, we are often classified as invited guests, though the insurance landscape for our community is still evolving.
In the future, should insurance providers categorise us differently, we plan to explore blanket coverage options, similar to platforms like Hipcamp.
Our community thrives on old-school values of respect and personal responsibility. While we have robust systems to protect all members, it's essential that everyone does their own research and makes informed decisions.
You’ll always have direct contact with your guests and can decline any requests that don’t feel right.
You can request a Zoom meeting or phone call. before arrival can help ensure you're comfortable with the arrangement.
Many of our members earn points while staying home, allowing you to supervise and set boundaries for members, which drastically reduces any risk.
Remembering it's a big savings on accommodation and definitely worth exploring your options, discuss with your insurance provider.
We’re here to support and grow this wonderful community together. If you have any questions or need further clarity, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to help.
Because LandaVan is a site swap membership, you can only join if you have a property that you are willing to share.
Yes! As long as a LandaVan site is available there is no resriction to how soon you can book.

A Personal Note From Eulanda Ryan, Founder Of Landavan
Hi, I'm Eulanda.
Like many Aussies my family and I began our journey caravanning around Australia during covid.
We'd spent over two decades working our butts off and realised that there was probably more to life out there than work, coffee, sleep, repeat!
We sold our home and took off in our caravan in pursuit of something different, we decided to expolre our own backyard for inspiration.
It didn't take long to fall in love.
The amazing coastlines...
The beautiful red dirt of the Pilbara...
And any of the hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime experiences that Australia has to offer.
The secret no one tells you before you start though, is that the people you meet is the best part of travelling.
We have met so many beautiful families and couples on our trip, and have made lifelong friends in the process.
Along the way, I saw that more and more people were being affected by the rising cost of travel.
I feel so strongly that we have a right to experience Australia up close and personal, and all that it has to offer.
Meeting travellers that were cutting their trip short due to costs, or that were simply driving around and skipping the adventures and activities available, inspired me to create a way to make it easier and more affordable for everyone.
Because at the end of the day, who really cares where you park your van at night?!
It's all about getting out and seeing and experiencing what's on offer.
If you feel that same way, then I would love to have you as a member.
love ya
Eulanda xx
